Electrical and Mechanical building services design and supervision for the new factory buildings, and renovation of existing ones for Nestle Kenya at Industrial area Nairobi. The project ran from February 2010 to 2013, and had a value of USD. 3 million.
The client is a multinational food production and distribution firm with a production and distribution facility in Nairobi’s industrial area for branded food products. The existing factory required extensions to existing buildings as well as renovations to create new product packaging lines as well as increased warehousing facilities. The client also required us to provide a new cafeteria.
The project required us to quickly appraise existing utilities and MEP infrastructure to anticipate its capacity for the expansion. We also needed to understand the unique MEP requirements for the production facilities as well as the MEP requirements for food production. We worked with the factory engineers as well as the process engineers within the framework on the company inherent Health & Safety and Facilities Standards. We also designed MEP services for a new cafeteria complete with kitchen equipment.
